The new minimum salary threshold, which was announced by the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mohre.gov.ae\/en\/home.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>ministry of human resource and Emiratisation (MoHRE)<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> , is to reinforce the active participation of the national workforce, equitable payment of the citizens, and the effectiveness of Emiratisation policies.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Whats_Changing\"><\/span><b>What\u2019s Changing?<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Starting <\/span><b>January 1, 2026,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> a new, renewed, or amended work permit of any Emirati employee in the private sector should be accompanied by a <\/span><b>monthly salary of not less than AED 6,000. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MoHRE corroborated this requirement via official media and extensively covered it in the UAE news.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The private sector employers have a<\/span><b> grace period up till June 30, 2026<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> where the current employers would have to increase the salaries to the new minimum in case they are lower.
